3 Things for Tuesday January 19, 2016

  • Wrapped the brisket in butcher paper and it turned out ok.  Was very cold yesterday and the smoker itself had trouble staying at temp, but it all worked out.
  • I don’t find personal worth in the performance of a group of obscenely paid athletes from a particular geographic location, but I do enjoy watching the games and it bums me out that Seattle and Minnesota are out of the playoffs.
  • I decided to participate in our photo clubs exhibition. Now need to pick a few shots and get them mounted.

3 Things for January 18, 2016

  • Woke up this morning to watch Seahawks’ playoff game, but the game started so bad for them I skipped ahead and ended up skipping to the end, took me all of 5 minutes.
  • The World As it Was in 1975.  Not going to say I wish it was like that now because I really benefit from cheap, quality communication, but this snapshot has a lot going for it.
  • Going to be bbqing some brisket and ribs today.

3 things about Monday, January 11, 2016

  • Made a creamy SuperMac today: Mac n cheese, bacon, chicken breast seasoned with Cajun salt and oregano sautéed in olive oil and butter, onions and peppers, fried cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes cooked out a lot of juice, so I dumped that on the veggies and cooked it down, then mixed it all together. The tomato juice made it very creamy.
  • Vikings missed a chip shot field goal and the Seahawks advance.
  • At my heaviest weight ever, 259.

Sunday January 10, 2016

  • Painted some miniatures together while watching Wild Card Football. Made the best pan pizzas yet.
  • Took down the Christmas stuff.
  • Found this great article discussing what makes Mad Max: Fury Road so fantastic.

January 7, 2016

  • Going to try new approach to blogging/journaling.  Just a couple sentences each day.
  • Accepted handshake for a DC job. Would have preferred to be overseas but DC was 95% likely and this is pretty much my ideal DC job.  Very excited and now have to figure out where to live
  • Eminent Child has been struggling to shake off pernicious cold.  No fever, just fatigued and stuffy.  Wish I could be home during the day to nurse her.
